Five Women, a performance ensemble, founded by Celeste Bateman, promoting the works of women writers, playwrights, poets, singers and songwriters with a four-piece band under the direction of singer/songwriter Gail Lou DeSandies, will perform songs by Newark’s renowned female singers: Tisha Campbell, Faith Evans, Connie Francis, Gloria Gaynor, Whitney & Cissy Houston, Queen Latifah and Sarah Vaughan.
