612 Second Sunday Lincoln On Springfield

Be inspired and get your creative juices flowing with musical performances, artist talks, film, spoken word workshops, painting & ‘making’ in the Museum’s new Makerspace. Brunch will be served at noon until 2, catered by David Ellis Events. Plein Air landscape artist Kit Sailer will be giving art demonstrartions, starting noon until 2, followed by a second showing from 3 until 5. The Museum Explorers will lead a multi-sensory tour, Sounds of Music in Art, starting at 12:30. Throughout the day, noon until 5, the Maker’s Space will be open, where guests are encouraged to make arts and crafts from recycled materials. Starting at 1, 2, and 3, the “Time Travel” exhibit is open to children and families. At 1:30, Anonda Bell, of Gallery Affero, will give an art presentation. A tour of the Observing Nature gallery will be given at 1 until 1:30. “A Passion for Place” film exhibit, with Newark Filmmakers Marylou and Jerome Bongiorno, will be given from 2 until 3. John Curley will give a poetry reading, “Poems, Pictures, and Places,” from 3:15 until 4:15. The Newark Boys Chorus will have their annual Spring Concert at 3, featuring a medley composed for Newark’s 350th anniversary.
