Barat Foundation’s Creation Nation is proud to announce the Newark Celebration 350 “Animodule History Project.” The Animodules™, giant  modular sculptures named “Newark’s  Official  Peace  Ambassadors” by the office  of the mayor, are now taking on an additional role as Newark’s Story Tellers. Together Newark’s seniors and school children will research Newark history and choose events and Newark citizens to feature on the historical sculptures. Once the events and historic figures are chosen, the seniors and school children will work with artists in residence to create the form of the sculpture, determine the artwork to be painted on the sculpture, and finally hand paint the finished piece. Five sculptures will be created, each one representing one of the five wards of Newark, each one paying tribute to the rich and diverse history of the city. The five Historical Animodules™ will proudly introduce the Newark 350 Celebration festivals in Military Park in May, along with the entire Animodule™ family of community created sculptures.
