Newark’s 7th Annual Women’s History Month Film Festival will screen an international collection of films by and about women that examine jazz as musical expression, as well as a metaphor for women’s work. As part of the Cell Phone Cinema Contest, students ages 16-24 use their cell phones to create three- to seven-minute films about global issues facing women.
NJ Red Carpet Opening featuring Newark native Nefertite Nguvu’s internationally acclaimed film “In The Morning.” Museum tours from 5-6; Reception at 6pm sponsored by Forever Newark, Screenings at 7:00pm - Panel discussion with Ms. Nguvu and cast members immediately following the screening.
